The Therapist
My name is Colin Wall-O'Neill and I am a fully qualified and insured complementary therapist. I have recently moved to Belfast, Northern Ireland from Birmingham, UK. I am in the process of setting up my own private practise in South - East Belfast near the Cregagh Road but aim to be mobile within the city and possibly further afield in Northern Ireland generally.
I come from an education background; working with adults with complex learning needs and prior to that I was in retail; in other words I have always enjoyed helping people! Although I had recieved reiki previously, I was drawn to giving alternative therapy three years ago when I found the options for help to get over the death of a close friend rather lacking. I was offered anti-depressants by my doctor but found that a hug from my mother or a chat over coffee with a friend was more useful! I came to the conclusion that there should be other options available to us when we are stressed. depressed or just feeling 'out of sorts'.
I began by having reflexology and reiki and the results amazed me. I felt much more 'at one' with myself and able to accept that life does indeed go on. I realised that I wanted to be able to help other people feel as good as I felt following each session with my therapist and so decided to get the training I needed to be able to do this. I am very much of the opinion that part of healing ourselves is having the intention to want to be better and to make a commitment to getting better. I am happy that I can offer my skills, such as they are, to help others be happier and healthier.
